February 28, 2000 Three pet labradors – Amba, Bodi and Chester – became the fastest pets to cross the Channel this morning when they arrived by hovercraft at the International Hoverport in Dover. Thanks to their new ‘PETS Passports’ the three labradors were the first group of dogs to arrive in the UK without having to go into quarantine. With a crossing time of just 35 minutes, the hovercraft is expected to be one of the most popular travel options for pet owners.
