May 24, 2002 High speed car ferry operator Hoverspeed has introduced a special £100 return fare on its three cross channel routes to France and Belgium. With savings ranging from around £50 to over £100 compared to advertised brochure fares, the promotion is valid for travel for a 5 day return duration, on selected days and sailings, up to 11 July 2002. The £100 fare is available on the Dover - Calais route on the 1830 and 2100 sailings from Dover (excluding Fridays), returning from Calais on sailings before midday. Travel can be made anytime on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. On the Dover - Ostend route the special offer applies to pm sailings only, excluding 7 - 9 June, and via Newhaven - Dieppe outward pm sailings only, any sailing inbound from Dieppe, excluding travel on 31 May and 1 - 2 June. Hoverspeed's new-look fleet is now complete for the coming season with the return from refit of the Seacat, Hoverspeed Great Britain. The craft joins the Seacat France and Seacat Danmark on the Dover - Calais route. Up to 15 sailings will operate from 0600 daily, with a crossing time of just under 1 hour. Seacat Diamant provides two return sailings daily on the Dover - Ostend route with a crossing time of 2 hours. The Superseacat on the Newhaven - Dieppe seasonal route also crosses in just 2 hours with up to three return sailings daily.
