April 12, 2002 High speed car ferry operator Hoverspeed has extended its current advance purchase fares offer to book by 30 April for travel anytime in 2002. Based on a car and up to 5 passengers, fares range from £169 to £229 on the Dover - Calais / Ostend routes for standard return travel. Five day returns start from £109 to £139. On the popular seasonal Newhaven - Dieppe route, standard return fares are available from £199 to £259 and for five day returns from £119 to £179. New for 2002 is a peak season sailing frequency increase from Dover of up to 17 return sailings daily. With departures every hour on the hour from 0600, Hoverspeed will provide 15 return sailings daily between Dover and Calais and two return sailings daily from Dover to the Belgian port of Ostend. The new-look high frequency schedule will be operated by a fleet of four Seacats - three on the Dover - Calais route - Hoverspeed Great Britain, Seacat Danmark, joined by the newly named Seacat France. Seacat Diamant will be operating on the Dover - Ostend route. Hoverspeed's Newhaven - Dieppe seasonal service - crossing time just two hours - resumed in March through to 30 September, with a Superseacat providing up to three return sailings daily.
