HIGH SPEED CROSSINGS ON THE HOUR

High speed car ferry operator Hoverspeed, who introduced their fleet of Superseacats to the Dover routes in March, will begin operating a new on the hour sailing schedule from Saturday 19 May between Dover and Calais.

From 0700 daily, the fast ferry fleet will provide 9 return sailings from Dover to Calais, with the capability to add additional sailings in peak periods. Three return sailings daily will also operate from Dover to Ostend at 0900, 1500 and 2000.

With pierhead-to-pierhead crossing times of just 40 minutes from Dover to Calais and 2 hours between Dover and Ostend, Hoverspeed will provide a fast, easily identifiable sailing schedule, as established by their high speed ferry fleet over many years.

Geoffrey Ede, Hoverspeed's Managing Director says, "Following the successful technical and operational introduction of the new generation fleet of Superseacats to our core routes, we are now able to introduce a sailing schedule to meet the travel demands of cross channel customers with departures every hour, on the hour."

Hoverspeed's Superseacats operate to Calais and Ostend from the company's exclusive Dover terminal. Each craft has capacity for 700 passengers and 145 vehicles and can travel at speeds of up to 40 knots.

To coincide with the new schedule Hoverspeed has introduced special day trip fares of £29 for a car and two passengers and £99 for a 3 day return - bookable up to 25 May for travel by 30 June. Reservations can be made by contacting Hoverspeed on (08705) 240241 or book online (2% discount) via www.hoverspeed.com
