NEW LOOK DIEPPE SERVICE READY TO RETURN

High speed car ferry operator Hoverspeed re-opens it’s Newhaven to Dieppe route on Friday 30 March.

This will be the third year that Hoverspeed has operated the popular fast direct ferry link to Normandy, and the major new feature for the 2001 season is the introduction of a new look Seacat catamaran to the service.

The Seacat ‘Diamant’ has capacity for 675 passengers and 145 venicles and at speeds of 38 knots, will provide a crossing time of 2 hours. The route will again operate on a seasonal basis from 30 March to 31 October, with up to three return sailings daily.

The three year old Seacat will be the newest high speed craft to operate between Newhaven and Dieppe. On board features include airline style at –seat service, café serving meals and refreshments, a lounge bar on the upper deck, shop and 1st lounge. There is also an outside deck area for passengers.

Geoffrey Ede, Hoverspeed’s Managing Director said,” Dieppe’s popularity as a day trip and short break destination, combined with Hoverspeed’s fast service, has helped re-establish the route as a preferred choice for a distinct cross channel market. The service also appeals to holidaymakers heading for the Normandy region.”

Further new features to the service include a 1st lounge in the Newhaven departure terminal. For an upgrade supplement of £20, passengers will have access to the airport style lounge in addition to the exclusive 1st facilities on board the Seacat during the 2 hour crossing.

The route re-opens with the 0830 sailing from Newhaven on Friday 30 March. For reservations and further information contact Hoverspeed on 08705 240241 or book online at www.hoverspeed.com
