NEW LOOK FOR NEWHAVEN - DIEPPE ROUTE

Fast car ferry operator Hoverspeed introduces a new look high speed craft to the Newhaven - Dieppe route in 2001.

The service, which re-opens from 31 March 2001, will be operated by an 81 metre seacat catamaran with capacity for up to 675 passengers and 145 vehicles. In addition to the same capacity, the crossing time of 2 hours will be identical to the superseacat, which has operated the service for the past two years.

The three year old seacat will be the newest high speed craft to operate between Newhaven and Dieppe, and on board features will include airline style at-seat service, café serving meals and refreshments, a lounge bar on the upper deck, shop and a 1st lounge. There is also an outside deck area for passengers.

Sailing frequency will provide up to 3 return sailings daily in the peak period and the route will again be operated as a seasonal service from 31 March to 31 October.

This will be Hoverspeed's third season operating the Newhaven - Dieppe service since the company revived the long established link between the two ports in April 1999. The route has since re-emerged as a popular choice to a distinct cross channel market, preferring the direct fast ferry link to Normandy.

Hoverspeed has also introduced new Apex fares on the Newhaven - Dieppe service for travel at any time in 2001. Based on a car and up to 9 passengers, prices start from £99 for a 5 Day return, £159 standard return (book by 5 January 2001) and £119 for a 5 Day return, £199 standard return (book by 31 March 2001).
